Khigh Dhigh On 1962 Talk Radio Program
This is an unexpected entry in the early career of Khigh Dhigh. During his days when he was doing theater in the NY area, he became friendly with a New York talk radio host named Long John Nebel who hosted an overnight program on station WOR (and later on WNBC and WMCA) usually dealing with far-out topics (UFOs etc.) One night in October 1962 though, he was a guest on the program participating in a big panel discussion on religion featuring an ADL spokesman, a Presbyterian minister, a Rabbi, a sculptor while Khigh Dhigh is billed as an "actor and student of comparative religion." This program aired a few weeks before "Manchurian Candidate" was released so he hadn't yet had the wider national exposure that long-term led to Five-O.
The discussion itself isn't scintillating. He comes into the conversation at about 65 minutes in. But for a Five-O fan it's surreal hearing him in this kind of program as himself.
