The genius of the show [H50] was creating the concept of a fictional state police agency, because that basically gave the writers the flexibility to go in different directions. They could do Bond style intrigue (the best example in the series is the S9 two parter "Nine Dragons" which shows Wo Fat at his greatest level of megalomania), or traditional cop show fare and it would all *work* in the context of the series.
