I am snooping around old newspaper articles which have been digitized and put on line at the local library.

I discovered that on May 10, 1974, the local CBS stations (there were two of them at the time) ran all three parts of the Vashon trilogy in one time slot from 8:30 to 11:00 p.m. I presume they removed the "previously on" stuff to jam it all in...

Yeah probably between the previously on, the theme/end songs, and a few commercials, they could squeeze it all into 2.5 hours.
