John Colicos was in commercials for Midas Muffler around 1980. You can see one of them on YouTube:



I remember when I went to see the 1980 horror film The Changeling (starring George C. Scott), which was filmed in the Vancouver area around this time. Colicos played a police detective in this show.

When he first showed up on screen, the audience went wild with laughter, because they recognized Colicos from his muffler ads!
