Tonight 50 years ago, CBS aired S03E21 "Dear Enemy".

Mr. Mike's mega-analysis is here: http://www.fiveohomepage.com/5-0log3.htm#69

When I was writing out the plots, I skipped this episode. There are episodes where cast members can save it, this is not one of them.

This episode had Vera Miles portraying Flora Whiting, wife of a convicted murderer Fred Whiting (John Lipton) who's political career was cut short due to his conviction. After all the nuances, it is discovered Fred's business partner Henry Lockman (Gary Collins) is the actual murderer. This is after manufactured evidence, Flora's hysterics and Lockman trying to kill her at the end.

The only thing I liked about this episode (and honestly, it's been a while since I've watched and I'm in no hurry to watch it again) is the interactions of the Five-O detectives at the Pantheon Bar.

It's a lot of talking and not a lot of action. It equals a boring job and a clunker episode, in my opinion (again, mileage may vary because someone may like this episode). It's all good because every show has them and it's bound to happen with 278 episodes.

Happy 50th, "Dear Enemy"!!
