Your valid points for "The Listener" is exactly why 3 out of 4 stars is appropriate. Not a bad premise, but execution could be better.

The bugs you speak of are the perfect example of the execution could be better category.

I have a modern communications example for the indoor interference. When you want to use an indoor TV antenna, the user manuals instruct you to put it near a window. The reason? There's a LOT of metal in your house and that metal can cause the TV signal to bounce around a bit before hitting your antenna. This is why you may need to move that antenna around the room before you receive a clear picture.

For those of us who are old enough, it gives the memories of using foil on the TV's rabbit ears!!

But same here, Todd, the bugs can bug. I suspend my disbelief in those areas.
