The Rockford Files is back on Amazon Prime.

It is FREE and has ZERO COMMERCIALS, and the picture quality is good. You can watch any episode from all 6 seasons on demand. Perfect for a Jew like me, especially because I somehow lost some of my episodes on DVD.

I am a huge fan of the show, even though I was too young to have watched it during its initial 1974-1980 run (I was just turning 8 when it was cancelled).

Despite being 50 years old, it still holds up quite well today. There are relatively few bad episodes, which is uncommon for hourlong dramatic series.

How much do I like the show?

I recently attended a convention (which fortunately was in the LA area) on the 50th anniversary of the first episode.

Here is the fictitious Buena Vista Inn, which appeared in the episode "Sleight of Hand", supposedly in Santa Barbara. The hotel was fictitious, but the actual hotel where it was filmed was used for the convention, and the hotel was renamed for that day:
