I watched the ending and got the impression they've known about the ending being this year for awhile. Was that your impression as well or am I off in left field again?
The fact that McG and Danno are getting all semi-mental about the sunset in light (no pun intended) of the show ending soon is very suspicious, but I don't think that there was originally a different ending and they then redid this ending by taking the actors and horses somewhere and filming it after they found out the show was cancelled.
