Interesting second connection to Five-O here.

Loretta Swit took over the "Hot Lips" Houlihan role in the MASH TV series. Kellerman played the role in the MASH movie.

Swit was also on Five-O, in a memorable role on "Three Dead Cows at Makapuu". She played awkward telephone operator Wanda, who fell in love with the mysterious scientist who was concerned about the possibly deadly virus. Whileher character was very realistic, and the entire telephone operator center was authentically done, Swit was too pretty for the role. I visited a few of these telephone operator centers in the '80s and '90s, and let's just say none of the operators looked anything like Loretta Swit!
