Mr. Mike
Really enjoyed viewing the new Classic HFO 🌊 Ratings Page. It was interesting to see where you and Jeff H were similar and different. It's a quick and ready guide and very helpful. I wouldn't be surprised if other Classic HFO 🌊 regulars will submit their episode ratings on the ⭐⭐⭐⭐ star scale. The exemplary episodes like Hookman and the Vashon Trilogy most likely are 4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐ in most people's ratings. An early Christmas present 🎁 for Classic HFO 🌊 Forum fans. JC
Mr. Mike and I are in close agreement on 3 of our top seasons: 3, 9 and 6, once you look at the ratings averages for each season and our subsequent season rankings. Of course we are also aligned on the bottom 3 seasons: 12, 11, and 10 (duh!)
We also are usually within 1 star of each other on quite a few episodes, though we do have big differences on two: “McGarrett is Missing” (I did 4.0, he did 1.5) and “Sweet Terror” (I did 4.0, he did 2.0). Like Mike, I also occasionally go back and update episode ratings based on changes of heart and the passage of time, but I seldom raise or lower any episode more than 1 star.
With that said, I did a re-watch yesterday of “The Big Aloha” and I’ve raised that from a 1.5 to a 2.5. As H&I and Me-TV Plus both cycle back through the 209 episodes in their current lineup, I’ve been doing a rewatch of the 74 episodes they don’t have, and am on Season 10.
My scale is basically the same as Mike’s:
4 stars: Excellent, one of the best
3.5 stars: Very good with minor flaws
3 stars: Good
2.5 stars: Above average/pretty good or has some good moments
2 stars: Average, a mediocre episode
1.5 stars: Below average/pretty bad or has bad moments
1 star: Bad
0 stars: A bomb, nothing about it was enjoyable, one of the worst
Thank you for your efforts, Jeff! How fun to see another fan write up the show!
