I found it funny how the ad emphasizes hand-tailored for MR. Jack Lord (makes me immediately think of "I'll Kill 'Em Again")
Anyone have any idea where this jacket was made?
This part is suspicious:
Aside from the Eddie Josephs style "MR", the date format is backwards for the US. So if the jacket was made in the US, I doubt it would have had a date written as 15/8/78.
At the 1999 H50 reunion in Honolulu, there was an auction of several items donated by Mrs. Lord, with proceeds going to the Variety School of Hawaii (one of the Lords' favorite charities). They included:
a suit jacket and vest -- $135
an aloha shirt -- $95
a blue full-length shirt -- $250
an Italian-made hat -- $110
a cowboy hat (circa Stoney Burke) -- $250
two knives with compasses in the handles -- $60 each
an cigarette lighter engraved with Jack Lord's name -- $110
There was an attempt to auction off a painting of Jack Lord by local artist Kevin Suarez, showing Lord sitting on the beach. The reserve value of the painting was put at $8,000, but the bidding stopped at $1,000. (It was reported that it was sold after the event for $2,000.)
